Deerfield, IL - KGK International ("KGKI"), the North American subsidiary of Tokyo-based Kanematsu KGK Corporation, has announced a major realignment that will enable the firm to serve additional sectors of the North American business community with a greater variety of products and services.
Well known as a major importer of high quality Japanese machine tools, KGKI will now represent products in the energy and foodservice industries, as well as extending its offerings in manufacturing.
According to KGK Management, "As new technologies have emerged, we've made a decision to augment our existing product base with new solutions and to utilize our extensive corporate capability in diversifying our product lines to other areas. For instance, we will continue to sell and support an extensive line of machining centers and turning centers equipped with the industry-standard FANUC control, and we have increased our manufacturing machinery to include spindle spinning and flow forming machines and precision 3D tube bending machines. These products fit well with our existing lines and have been enthusiastically received by both existing and new customers.
Our new energy related products include advanced solar photovoltaic wafer processing systems, and the ability to supply wafers and related components to industry. For the foodservice industry, we're offering an exceptionally fast and versatile sleeve labeling system, as well as processing machinery for the manufacture of snack foods."
In addition to the increased scope of product lines, KGK has exemplified its philosophy of "Meeting Local Challenges with Global Technology" by widening its supplier base to include manufacturers from other Asian nations as well as Japan. KGKI's President, states, "All of the products that we represent share a common dedication to excellence in manufacture, as well as a tradition of customer service and support. KGK Marketing Program Celebrates "American Manufacturing Reborn"
Deerfield, IL - KGK International, the North American distributor for Okuma
machining and turning centers equipped with FANUC controls, has announced a
marketing program focusing on the theme, "American Manufacturing Reborn." According to Mark Davis, Senior Sales Manager for KGK, "Our purpose in
selecting this theme is to educate American manufacturers to the fact that,
in order to succeed in today's competitive market, it's necessary to think
globally in terms of sourcing the absolute best technology. The Okuma
products that we sell, equipped with FANUC controls, deliver cutting edge
technology, both mechanically and electronically. Our dual spindle turning
configurations can literally double production while fitting into a smaller
footprint than a conventional lathe. Large vertical turning centers come in
dual turret configurations with live tooling for maximum flexibility, and
the Okuma line of machining centers are offered in a full range of sizes
extending from 12" prismatic cube capacity to large-bed profilers.
"The importance of the control can't be overlooked either. FANUC
continually updates its product line and is certified in more than 80% of
U.S. manufacturing facilities. The ready availability of programmers and
operators familiar with the FANUC line, coupled with its easy integration
into CAM software, delivers distinct advantages over other types and
manufacturers of controls."
The "American Manufacturing Reborn" theme is vividly expressed in a series
of four (4) graphic images that will be utilized in advertising, trade
shows, website and other media. They are the work of Missouri artist Tom
Patrick and reflect the style of the WPA artists of the 1930's. Mark Davis
comments, "It's interesting to note that in the 1930's, as now, American
manufacturers were experiencing difficult times. The artists of that period
inspired the population by idealizing the image of the American worker and
the essential dignity and importance of making and building things. For
that reason, we felt it was singularly appropriate for the message we
convey."
The graphic series will encompass four separate panels illustrating the
automotive industry, aircraft manufacture, farming, earth moving and mining
equipment, and the machine shop and factory.
